Universal Healthcare
We believe that healthcare is a human right. For too long, we have allowed insurance companies to get between us and our doctors. They profit from denying care to those that need it the most, sending millions into medical bankruptcy and 60,000 Americans a year to their deaths. In Massachusetts, almost 200,000 people are uninsured, and in low income and minority communities the rate of uninsured is signifcantly higher. Our unnecessarily complex system makes it nearly impossible for undocumented immigrants to find coverage. Life expectancy in Massachusetts seems to be a function of your race and your wealth, and that's not the way it should be.
On the Northshore, Opioid and other drug addiction is a major concern that should be treated as a health crisis, not a criminal concern. More funding and compassion for those who are addicted will go a long way.
Together we will:
On the Northshore, Opioid and other drug addiction is a major concern that should be treated as a health crisis, not a criminal concern. More funding and compassion for those who are addicted will go a long way.
Together we will:
- Pass the Massachusetts Medicare For All bill, H1267 aka S766, making healthcare free at the point of service.
- Provide healthcare to include dental, vision, mental healthcare and comprehensive care for the trans community
- Protect and fully fund women's health including reproductive care
- Introduce the Safe Haven Act, to help provide reproductive care for those in states with trigger laws going into effect
- Fund rehabilitation centers to treat addictions to all drugs, including OPIOIDS.
