Safe Haven Act
Abortion care is healthcare. This far right extremist Supreme Court should have to answer for its role in an attempted overthrowing of our democracy before it is given the legitimacy to make decisions about our basic human rights. Women will continue to seek the care that they need but will now be less safe. This will affect poor women and women of color the most.
As far as Massachusetts is concerned, I will propose and fight for the “Safe Haven Act,” which will
- Provide care to women and birthing people across the country particularly in those 24 states with trigger laws currently going into effect that interfere with their bodily autonomy.
- Provide transportation to low-income people from their states to Massachusetts to access these services
- Provide funding to those without the means to pay for it themselves
